GARCIA, Agostina  y  MARTINA, Daniela. Thinking about food practices and health care from selfcare process in migratory contexts and intercultural. Rev. Mus. Antropol. [online]. 2022, vol.15, n.3, pp.179-192. ISSN 1852-060X.  http://dx.doi.org/http://doi.org/10.31048/1852.4826.v15.n3.38113.

Abstract This paper aims to analyze the food practices and health care for children supported by migrant women from different regions of Bolivia who live in a neighborhood in the city of Córdoba (Argentina) from the perspective of self-care in an intercultural context. Using a qualitative methodology, we place the fieldwork in the Nuestro Hogar III neighborhood between 2016 and 2017. During that period, we conducted in-depth interviews with eleven Bolivian migrant women, along with observations with and without participation in different neighborhood spaces. From this, we were able to show that food practices and health care for boys and girls are not unrelated to self-care within social microgroups, forming an integral and active part of the construction of health. These practices are based on generational and generic knowledge that provides women with a framework of support and containment. In this way, self-care is present in eating practices, giving them a restorative, preventive and health-promoting sense.
