Resumen

BOLOGNA, S.B et al. Development of soya germplasm without lipoxigenases and antinutritional factors. BAG, J. basic appl. genet. [online]. 2014, vol.25, n.1, pp.9-20. ISSN 1852-6233.

The main objective of soybean breeding programs has been to increase the productive potential of the crop, while less effort has been made for improvement of quality-related traits of the grain. In the current context of globalization, markets are beginning to demand foods with differential qualities to offer products with nutritional value and acceptable organoleptic characteristics. With the aim of developing soya germplasm with quality attributes, the E.E.A. INTA Marcos Juárez and the National University of San Luis (UNSL) are conducting investigations to generate variability for antinutritionals factors and lipoxygenases, in order to select null genotypes for these features. In 2006, in E.E.A. INTA Marcos Juárez, a biparental cross was carried out between two conventional genotypes, one triple null for lipoxygenases 1, 2 and 3 and, the other, null conventional for the trypsin inhibitor carrying the Kti gene that prevents accumulations of Kunitz antinutritionals factors. At the Department of Agricultural Sciences, UNSL, segregating populations (F2-F6) were developed and genetic parameters were estimated. Marker assisted selection (MAS) was performed to detect the absence of lipoxygenases and antinutritionals factors in the progenies. Lastly, variability was explored in the selected advanced lines, which were agronomically characterized. The used genetic parameters were efficient tools for the selection of superior genotypes in the segregating populations, and the designed molecular markers facilitated the fast and efficient identification of germplasm without lipoxygenases and Kunitz antinutritionals factors.
