Diverse techniques of restoration in dry lands are discussed, these allow to recover the floristic composition and the vegetation structure in degraded areas. Each considered aspect is supported by experiences with proven results. The importance of prevention and environmental evaluation is highlighted as a way to mitigate the negative impacts. In addition, the use of native species properly selected in the same phyt1ogeographic entity ensures the restoration.
