Resumen
OZAN, Ivana Laura. Intensity of human occupation in hunter-gatherers: a micro-stratigraphical view from soil science approach. Zaranda ideas [online]. 2012, vol.8, n.1, pp.65-81. ISSN 1853-1296.
In this article I propose a theoretical and methodological analysis of the "intensity of human occupation" in hunter-gatherers populations. In order to discuss this issue, the paper is organized around three main questions: 1- what is intensity of occupation?; 2- is a geoarchaeological approach an effective tool to understand it?; and 3- which kind of expectations can be generated from a "geo-etnoarchaeological" revision? This evaluation concludes that Earth and Soil Sciences -with certain emphasis in micromorphological studies- have a significant potential to recognize duration and redundancy in residential camps corresponding to low demography-high mobile populations.
