MOLAR, Rocío María. Food and social reproduction: life of food in early villager contexts from Tafí Valley (2000 AP- 1000 AP). Zaranda ideas [online]. 2015, vol.13, n.1, pp.41-62. ISSN 1853-1296.
This paper addresses the intervention of vegetal food transformation practices in social reproduction of early village societies in Tafí valley, Tucuman Province. A multivariable analysis is carried out which includes vegetal microremains identification and the study of crop growing plots and food processing and consuming artifacts assemblages with the aim of recognizing structuring conditions and agents strategies. The presence of small scale plots contiguous to the residential compounds, agriculture centered in a few species, and household controlled storage features, allow discussing the existence of relatively autonomous households, linked to larger collectives throughout relationships mediated by food.
