AGUERO, Alejandro. El Teniente de rey de Tucumán: Gobierno político, autoridad militar y localización jurisdiccional en Córdoba, 1741-1775. Rev. hist. derecho [online]. 2013, n.46. ISSN 1853-1784.
The post of Lieutenant of King for Tucumán was created in 1741. According to its appointment, it had to reside in the southern city of Córdoba to be able to watch out all those places that, due to the large extension of the provincial territory, could not be easily reached by the governor who resided regularly in the northern city of Salta. Since the very moment of his designation, the owner of the new post had to face the stubborn resistance offered by a dominant party of the local elite. Even when a great deal of the confrontation stemmed from the belonging to different social partialities, we will try to analyze the reasons expressed during the institutional moments of the conflict, seeking to show the effectiveness of some arguments linked to what we have called in other place, process of "localization" of law and of the jurisdictional order.
