The diversification of content consumption devices today is generating a transition in reading practices. The central hypothesis is that the concept of reading has entered into crisis, it is necessary to expand it to talk about a reading / navigation, giving an ac- count of the interactive aspects of reading that takes place in multimedia digital devices. From a historical perspective, this article intends to recover the main milestones of the revolutions of the reading of the past in the light of current technological innovation, finding in this way a series of ruptures and continuities in the evolution of the forms of appropriation of the text.
