I intend to integrate the ethnographic narrative of the image -film and video technologies fundamentally- to popular culture re-imagining it from the new audiovisual regimes, knowledge and practices that involve creators and receivers, producers and consumers. I ask the popular not from its definition or rise as the history and social theory does, but stressing some theoretical strategies and practices that generate experience and shape subjectivity. In short, I propose some access roads to understand how the popular operates and is transformed into a device of thinking and creative action. Finally, rather considering the popular media as a field of study, I propose an approach to an interdisciplinary place in which we can discuss its essentialism and universality, trying to under-stand the past visual turn and the nowadays.
