This article reflects on the production of videogames aimed at participating in the local public scene, proposing from the digital play experience other ways of creating meaning(s).
It focuses on the study of two independent groups based in the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires, whose projects involve the development of videogames as means of expression for social and political criticism. On the one hand, the work investigates the conditions and form of production; on the other hand, it describes its aesthetic characteristics and conceptual definitions. To this end, in-depth interviews with developers were conducted, as well as participant observation both online and at events.
