The aim of this article is to analyze the adaptation of the Argentine novel Kriptonita (2012) by Leonardo Oyola to the comic Kriptonita. La historieta (2019). The adaptation was made by Federico Reggiani, Fabián Salazar did the drawings, Ángel Mosquito did the coloring and the production was in charge of Max Aguirre. With its clear references to Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster’s Superman, Oyola’s novel dialogues paratextually with the classic American comic. Furthermore, I will look into the relationship between literature and comics. In this article, the comic will be conceived as a rewriting of the novel according to its new medium. With this theoretical approach, I will consider the adaptation to the comic itself and analyze the way in which the text is translated into vignettes, colors, drawings and lines.
