This work tries to make a theoretical revision of the notion about “reading protocols” and to think, in a partial and short way, the reading practices of literary texts in secondary school. The objective is to understand, from the complexity, a cultural and school practice that proposes different ways of reading literary texts in the book object for the training of the young reader.
For this, a literary text, The strange case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr, Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson, will be taken as a case in different editions that are currently circulated for reading by young people in high school of the province of Salta (Argentina). The peculiarity is that all editions are presented specifically in youth literary collections and are those found in school libreries and bookstores in the province.
