Resumen

MESA, Néstor Alejandro; ARBOIT, Mariela  y  DE ROSA, Carlos. La sustentabilidad energético-ambiental como base para el desarrollo urbano en zonas de oasis andinos. Cuad. urbano [online]. 2010, vol.9, n.9. ISSN 1853-3655.

Last century's buildings were characterized by their growing dependence on air conditioning achieve adequate thermo-luminic comfort levels while ignoring the eventual depletion of non-renewable energy resources and the environmental degradation produced by their combustion. An alternative to this trend is to achieve comfortable buildings which, interacting with the local climate, could take advantage of it to provide thermal wellbeing for their occupants and function as independent thermodynamic systems with minimum energy consumption. This study evaluates international standards in-force which promote the utilization of a site's climatic resources, analyzing the features of the different urban structures produced according to these standards not only with reference to their bioclimatic potential but also evaluating the possible environmental effects of the implementation of these standards in highly vulnerable environmental conditions, such as those of the Northern Oasis of the Province of Mendoza in Argentina.

Palabras clave : Solar energy, bioclimatic potential, environmental impacts.
