This article aims to approach three contradictions that developed during the requalification process of the central and historical public urban spaces of Buenos Aires in three PRO administrations (2007-2019). The first one tells about the homogenization-distinction tension of the built space from importing and adapting urban recipes of hegemonic paradigms. The second focuses on the conflicts unleashed by the local government's attempt to impose an urban order that prioritized private appropriations and classified certain collective appropriations as illegitimate. The third deals with the processes of illumination-invisibility of certain spaces and memories that reinforced the dominant Buenos Aires identity.

The research has a qualitative methodological design and a combination of data sources. First, a heterogeneous corpus of official documents was developed. Then, observations were made in the selected spaces. Finally, statements and journalistic notes from local government officials and technicians that were tracked in the media and on social networks.
