SEGURA, María Laura y MATOSSIAN, Brenda. International migrations and inequalities in the inner urban space of Rosario. Estudios Socioterritoriales [online]. 2018, vol.24. ISSN 1853-4392.
The city of Rosario has experienced a vertiginous urban and demographic growth in the two last decades, in partdue to the contribution of different international migratory groups. The main groups born in Paraguay, Italy and Peru are analyzed: certain demographic and educational characteristics and mainly its spatial distribution, within this complex city in continuous urban sprawl towards nearby villages. Social inequalities between the Central Area, historically related to an European trace, and urban margins is recognized by considering socio-economic studies on an intra-urban scale. Secondary sources were surveyed and thematic cartography was carried out on the scale of census radios. We conclude that social inequalities are also spatial inequalities. This study allows knowing and relating international migratory distribution patterns and unequal life conditions also enables to question hegemonic and exclusionary urban imaginaries used against certain groups.
