Resumen

MANCHADO, Mauricio. Masks and sinners: Secondary Adjustments, Governmentality and Pentecostalism in Santa Fe Prisons (Argentina). Soc. relig. [online]. 2017, vol.27, n.48, pp.191-213. ISSN 1853-7081.

In this work we will research on the modalities of resistances to the prison order and spiritual discipline by the members of the pentecostal evangelical religious device (DREP). In this study we hypothesized that resistances assume different practical-discursive forms according to who realize them and the interactive situations in which they are exercised. One of them, starting from Goffman's categories, are the secondary adjustments and their forms. These forms allow to survive confinement in prison and enable reciprocities that end up locating the DREP as a tactic of governmentality of the penitentiary service. To do this, and based on a field work focused on three Penitentiary Units in the province of Santa Fe (Argentina), we will describe the historical processes of the DREP in Santa Fe prisons, the different relations between the inhabitants of the churches- cells-block with their partners and with the SP members, and how such links define a network of reciprocities whose main effect is to set up a prison without news.
