Resumen
HIJOS, Nemesia y ALVARO, Daniel. We ignite and spread: pilgrimages, ontological coaching and neoliberal feminisms. Soc. relig. [online]. 2022, vol.32, n.60, pp.6-6. ISSN 0326-9795.
In this article we propose to think about New Age spirituality within the framework of novel market proposals for female empowerment, personal development and self-transformation. In order to understand the scope of these proposals, we analyze the ethnographic records (June-August 2021) of the course “Peregrinas 5.0”. This course is presented as “a movement of activation and integration of feminine energy”, an invitation to “inner knowledge” through talks, meditation and reflection practices, meetings, retreats, trips and programmes aimed at “igniting and spreading the inner fire” through pilgrimages of self-confidence, self-perception, self-knowledge, self-management, spiritual intelligence, voice yoga and body experimentation. “Peregrinas 5.0” is promoted by the Argentinean actress and influencer Calu Rivero (currently identified as “Dignity”) together with Cris Schwander, an ontological coach from Córdoba, co-founder of the Universidad Siglo XXI, and a series of “facilitators” linked to mindfulness and bioenergetic therapy, among other techniques of personal wellbeing.
