This article addresses the public policies that promote the internationalization of science and technology in Argentina between 2003 and 2015. To this end, four dimensions are studied: policies oriented to promote international cooperation in science and technology; policies oriented to the repatriation of scientists and technologists; policies oriented to promote science and technology activities and policies oriented to guide the scientific and technological internationalization. Special attention is paid to the initiatives proposed by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation, the National Council of Scientific and Technical Research and the organism in charge of University Policies. In turn, issues of scientific-technological, political, economic, and social history of Argentina are recovered, in so far as they help explaining the problem addressed.

Palabras clave : Scientific and technological policies; Internationalization of science and technology; Science and technology in Argentina; Scientific and technological cooperation with Latin America.
