This article adopts the concept of online education, considering it the most appropriate to describe and address the learning and teaching process that takes place in an online-campus university environment, for programs of study offered online. Based on that concept, this work focuses on the interactions that occur between the platforms and the library services of academic libraries at national public universities offering such services. In terms of methodology, in addition to a bibliographic review on the topic, websites from the 59 national universities were studied. An ad-hoc template was used for the collection of the results. From their analysis, the widespread use of Moodle software was detected, as well as the growing presence of education modules to support teaching activities on the platforms, and the still scarce articulation between libraries and online education platforms. Finally, it is proposed to investigate the same universe through other methodologies that allow to delve into other aspects of the interrelation between platforms and academic libraries.
