This article presents a research of college students´epistemological beliefs about source of knowledge and epistemic authority, taking into account the influence of epistemic and disciplinary context on students ´ beliefs. An epistemological questionnaire based on Likert scale was administrated to a sample of 1203 first year students from different faculties of National University of Salta. From a quantitative analysis of the data, significant differences in epistemological beliefs among students from different faculties were found. These results were interpreted considering the influence of epistemic and disciplinary context on the formation of epistemological beliefs. The need to pursue this line of study from a contextual and situated approach is underlined.
