The eclesiastic institution was in charge of doing the social assistance. In the new model of society that pretended to be built on the illustrate philosophy, the civic and religious education of the poor and homeless were efficient tools to direct and systematize the social discipline needed to achieve the order and progress wanted. Women were not included in the new educational ideal, whose instruction, "according to her gender" looked for the education in ideals that were useful to Religion and State. In this context, the work of Bishop St. Albert, spokesman for the Catholic Enlightenment ideas reach singular importance. Under his initiative was created Orphan Girls' House Nobles of the city of Cordoba-see of the bishop of Tucuman in order to rescue them from ignorance and destruction to which the estimated exposed for being a poor orphan girls.
