JIMENA, Andrieu. ¿Cómo usan el agua los productores de los oasis del oeste argentino? : Un estudio de las prácticas de riego en el Valle del Tulum de San Juan . Pampa [online]. 2017, n.16, pp.221-247. ISSN 2314-0208.

This article analyzes the farmer´s water access and use that is distributed in the irrigation systems in an arid region of Argentina. For this work, water is assumed like a common pool resource; with its own problematic for management. This paper achieved a characterization of the farms through the practices of water users. Data is generated by semi-structured interviews from a case study localized at Tulum Valley, province of San Juan. Collective action has an important effect over the regulation of these resources. For this reason, we explore the farmers’ practices regarding water to notice in them the role of that kind of action. In addition the concept of practice is essential to understand this complex phenomenon, where farmer sometimes act in an individual way, and other times well organized. Also the analysis of data is based on multivariate techniques. Then we examined the weakness and strengths in the management of water for the case study
