This paper analyzes from a regional scale the value chain that structures the Argentine space sector and the articulation between private companies and public innovation and development centers and laboratories during post-convertibility (2003-2021). The territorial cut is focused on the region of La Plata and nearby towns.

Likewise, the idea of ​​complex goods is worked on in this article, this notion refers to “project-based” products, with a high unit cost and “made to measure”. These goods are characterized by containing capital goods in their parts, thus motorizing the network of high value-added industries.

In the region studied, the Faculty of Engineering of the UNLP and other research centers (UNLP-CONICET-CIC) have developed activities of fundamental importance for the Argentine space program, joining the nearby town of Pipinas, the Punta Indio Space Center (VENG-CONAE).
