This paper intends to analyze the long lasting adhesion of printing workers to the ideas of mutual aid, in the context of the boom of associativism between 1907 and 1918. It addresses several aspects that we consider essential to discuss the applicability of the English or French models of mutualism to the case of the Sociedad Tipográfica Bonaerense. It aims to contribute to the broader discussion of workers’ mutualism as a specific and lasting model of association that deserves an analysis of its own, and to the development of a more complex and comprehensive view of working class societarism in the 20th century.
