This paper seeks to analyze the existence of two types of Shining Path -Maoist armed organization of the Communist Party of Peru-, which actually coexist in the Peruvian scene, each one with a possible structure, a different logic and under a specific territorial and political area of action. The peculiar characteristics of each group become the need for a thorough examination to differentiate frames of action and the respective objectives.
