This article presents the results of four extension actions carried out within the framework of a participatory action–research project of the National University of Patagonia San Juan Bosco that involved students of different educational levels in Comodoro Rivadavia during 2020–2021.We set out to document and reflect on their educational and participatory experiences, the effects of the pandemic and its aftermath.

The main objective is to present a reflective analysis of the ways in which we integrate research and extension from a participatory approach with students of different educational levels. We seek to highlight the potential of participatory methodologies in extension projects to favor instances of reflection and learning regarding the different educational experiences in this context. We also highlight the importance of understanding the communicational dimension and integrating research and extension practices with students.
