This paper analyzes the expansion of networks of designers architect who propose to intervene in the city by specific and piecemeal interventions. In a context of disputes stared by different networks of professional and technicians, the expansion of designers architect is linked to the changing political - economic frameworks, their political connections and the use of professional and technical exchanges with Spanish peers. In a democratic transition and economical crisis context, this paper analyzes the '20 ideas para Buenos Aires´ contest. Organized by the city council of Buenos Aires and Madrid this contest is analyzed as an initiative that facilitated the designers architect network expansion whose trajectories and know-how are related to architectural teaching and private professional practice.
