Resumen
BRANDARIZ, Gustavo A.. Argentina: Architecture for a century of exhibitions 1829 a 1933. An. Inst. Arte Am. Investig. Estét. Mario J. Buschiazzo [online]. 2014, vol.44, n.2, pp.191-204. ISSN 2362-2024.
During the nineteenth century, the great exhibitions were important media for promoting industrial development and at the same time, generated a mass movement, influenced the popular education and were eloquent expressions of belief in progress. From the point of view of design they also were provocations in favour of creativity and accounted discussions between historicism and innovation, creating the first solid constructions that visually melted into the immateriality, and truly heterotopic alternative locations. This paper presents the journey of these exhibitions in Argentina between 1829 and 1933.
