This article focuses on the architectural relationships between Brazil and Argentina, in the context of the post-war international debate. It seeks, firstly and through the trajectories of Wladimiro Acosta and Gregori Warchavchik, to clarify the exchanges between these two architects, and to incorporate later on the figure of Lúcio Costa. It shows the possible relationships between their architectural experiments and the idea of a "tropical architecture". Secondly, based on the publication of a monograph about Costa, it explains how the reception of the ideas of the Brazilian architect in Argentina took place in a broader debate about post-war architectural ideologies. Finally, it shows how the genealogy of the "tropical architecture" allows to connect those two moments with the present.
