This conversation deals with the formulation and implementation of housing policies in Latin America as regards the urban production carried out by different social actors.

Present habitat situation in Chile is addressed since this is our guest homeland; it is there where he has developed activities related to the interview subject. Architect’s training and the kind of adjustments leading to a less market-based approach able to meet social needs are considered.

Finally, the state of affairs in Latin America in relation to migratory movements, corruption and narco-criminality is reviewed.
