RUBIO, Agustín; BOTERO, Camila; DELFINO, Gisela y BOSO, Roxana. The Meaning of Work in Different Generations of Argentines. Rev. psicodebate: psicol. cult. soc. [online]. 2022, vol.22, n.1, pp.62-76. ISSN 2451-6600. http://dx.doi.org/10.18682/pd.v22i1.5216.
In the framework of the model proposed by Meaning of Working (MOW-International Research Team, 1987), the meaning of work in terms of centrality and identification with roles in different generations was explored. The gender variable was evaluated, considering it relevant when knowing the differences that could arise between the two groups. This was a descriptive, correlational, non-experimental, cross-sectional study in a sample of 187 people of both genders, aged between 18 and 72 years (M = 39.44, SD = 16.46) residents of Buenos Aires and its outskirts. Significant intergenerational differences were found in absolute and relative centrality, not being so in identification with roles. In turn, the results obtained reported significant differences in how men and women tend to mean relative work and how they identify with roles.
