Ankle sprain is the most frequent lower limb injury. Single-leg hop tests assess functional performance after an ankle injury by stressing the joints in sagittal and frontal planes. They also allow us to recreate similar movements to the ankle injury mechanism and may be considered as a variable for the return to sport. The side hop test has proven to be a reliable test to detect lower limb asymmetries. Therefore, the objective of this study is to describe the side hop test.
