Aim
Cysticercosis is an infection caused by the larval state of the pig’s tapeworm, Taenia solium. The oral cavity is a rare place for its location and represents a diagnostic challenge for dentists. This article presents a rare clinical case of a lingual cysticercosis in an adult patient and its resolution.
Clinical case:
A 23 -year-old female patient presents as an outpatient due to a tumor lesion located on the right side of the lingual edge, painless, slow-growing and chronic evolution.
Although this type of tumor is uncommon, it is important to have knowledge of its existence for its correct clinical, differential diagnosis and treatment.
