MARICHAL, María Eugenia. History of the regulation of food law en Argentina (1880-1970). Rev. hist. derecho [online]. 2016, n.52, pp.131-166. ISSN 1853-1784.
This paper reconstructs the configuration of a legal order for food control in Argentina. It is argued that this juridization process was driven and developed by a group of state food expert. This process is analyzed identifying and describing three major periods: the emergence of an institutional and organizational network; the order of the food control legislation; and an alleged food codification that finally stabilized the national regime. The Argentinean Food Code could be considered as a sui generis code. It is composed by regulatory norms adjusted to a codified form. It is open to permanent reform due to the necessity of being updated facing the scientific and technological advances produced in the field.
