Youth studies show meaningful changes in transitions towards adulthood as regards its length, pluralization and non-standarization. Within this framework, high school education has turned into a key piece of the public policy addressed to youngsters. In Argentina, high school is considered the last mandatory educational cycle which along with the fact of the social and economic context change, has provided high school with new senses and assessment. The text displays a comparison of the transition of high-school education to employment with the aim to analyse how different economic contexts influence in youth transitions stemming from statistical information gathered in two economic junctures very well differentiated: 1999 and 2011.
