Regarding readings on sexual self-help, erotic literature and the marketpla-ce that promoted commodities and services as optimizers of female sexual life, this article focuses on the tension between liberation and oppression and empowerment and submission, presented by certain feminist studies and activism. These understandings overfow the concrete experiences of the women who go round these circuits. For this purpose, I present international and local studies that challenge certain technologies in their feminist character; I analyzed the legacies of the sexual revolution and sex toy market in its articulation of pleasure, health and empowerment.
