The objective of this paper is to analyze how the UIA´s industrial capitalists expressed themselves during the last military dictatorship. We are interested in investigating his position regarding the main measures adopted during the administration of José Martínez de Hoz at the head of the Ministry of Economy. Especially those that give us clues about the evaluation of the capitalists on the role of the State in the economy.

Our methodology consists on the qualitative and quantitative analysis of documents (newspapers, institutional sources, specialized magazines). We start from the study of the singularities of the accumulation of capital and the State during the selected stage. We analyze the characteristics of the industrial capitalists, as well as the accumulation space in which they operate, in order to account for the main determinations of their political action.
