This paper aims to examine the theoretical conceptions with regard to “the body” and whether Amavet’s theory can be identified in this concept, both in the curricula and the syllabi of the Physical Education I to V courses of the Physical Education courses from Facultad de Humanidades y Ciencias de la Educación of Universidad Nacional de La Plata. Thinking about Amavet’s theory has become substantial, given that this author was the creator of the Physical Education courses at Universidad Nacional de La Plata. Similarly, problematizing the concept of the body in the curricula allows broadening the perspective of this concept, as well as making visible and investigating the theories behind it. In conclusion, the study sets out from the analysis of the Amavetian theory in relation to the concept of “body” in order to establish a theoretical frame, and then offer an analysis and reflection about the mentioned concept in the contributions chosen, while investigating other theories in relation to the body.
