SANCHEZ CARCELEN, Antoni. Catalan And Valencian Deputies In The Debate Of Equal Representation Of America And The Philippines In The Courts Of Cadiz. Estud. hist. Esp. [online]. 2015, vol.17, n.2. ISSN 2469-0961.
For the first time the opinions of the Catalan and Valencian deputies, belonging to the former Crown of Aragon during the debate about equality representation of America and the Philippines in the Courts of Cadiz, are discussed. At first, the representatives of the Principality and of the Kingdom of Valencia opposed to the immediate application for the fear of discredit and the subsequent revocation of the constitutional work of the extraordinary Congress of Cadiz. In contrast, in the second debate were favoured, according to the terms set out in the decree of October 15, 1810, to ingratiate with the American parliamentarians and, as well, thus appease the secessionist insurrection.
