This article reflects on the attempts of the Congress of the United States to influence the International Bank for Reconstrution and Development (IBRD, better known as World Bank) in relation to the loans to Argentina between 2008 and 2012. During this period, different bills were presented to influence the Bank's Executive Board to prevent Argentina's access to financing granted by this international organization.
