The economic recovery after the crisis of the early 2000s led to significant improvements in economic indicators and the rise in employment. Simultaneously, recent reforms in the education system promoted the training and employment of young people in technical activities, which meant changing the course of the measures taken during the 1990s.
This paper aims to analyze the main indicators related to the employment of young graduates of technical education schools and compare them with the insertion of young graduates of the secondary level in Argentina. For this, we will use data of the Survey of graduates on technical education carried out by the INET in 2013 and data from the Permanent Household Survey carried out by the INDEC of the same year.
Comparing the two groups allows to know whether there are differences between secondary school graduates of technical education and graduates from other schools regarding to employment and educational rates insertion. The aim is to analyze if they have different rates of employment and unemployment and if there are differences in the quality of jobs they can access, whether or not to continue studying, etc.
