BERI, Ángeles; GUTIERREZ, Pedro R.; CERNUSCHI, Federico e BALARINO, María Lucía. Palinology of Lower Permian at the DCLS-24 well (San Gregorio Formation), Cerro Largo Department, Uruguay. Part 1: spores, algae, prasynophyceae, and acritarchs. Ameghiniana [online]. 2006, vol.43, n.1, pp.227-244. ISSN 1851-8044.
The palynological contents of four samples of the borehole DCLS24 (made by DINAMIGE) are analysed. Their lithology consists of black laminated clay formed in a glacio-marine environment, assigned to the upper part of the San Gregorio Formation (Early Permian). The assemblages found are composed by spores, pollen grains, algae, acritarchs and some elements of uncertain affinities. In this contribution, 38 species of spores, six species of algae, one acritarch and two of uncertain affinities are described. The following species are mentioned for the first time for the Permian of Uruguay: Leiotriletes corius Kar and Bose, Brevitriletes leptoacaina Jones and Truswell, B. parmatus (Balme and Hennelly) Backhouse, Grossusporites microgranulatus (Menéndez and Azcuy) Pérez Loinaze and Césari, Lundbladispora areolata Césari, Archangelsky and Seoane, Cristatisporites menendezii (Menéndez and Azcuy) Playford, C. chacoparanaensis Ottone, Pilasporites sp. B Stephenson and Osterloff, and Brazilea plurigenus (Balme and Hennelly) Foster.
