RUBIO CAMPOS, Jesús. Flexible and fun?The work of young people in public relations (PR's) for night clubs and music festivals in Monterrey, México. Trab. soc. [online]. 2021, vol.22, n.37, pp.477-502.  Epub 01-Jul-2021. ISSN 1514-6871.

The purpose of this research is to analyze the characteristics of young people who are looking for customers, make reservations, sell tickets and separate tables for bars, clubs, nightclubs or nightclubs and music festivals in Mexico, called public relations managers (PR´s), the meanings that this activity has for those who carryitout, as well as the conditions and labor relations between the PRs and the companies for which they work. A qualitative methodology was used, consisting of in-depth interviews with young people who are dedicated to being PRs in the cities of San Pedro Garza García and Monterrey, Nuevo León, where the most expensive and exclusive nightclubs are located. The interviewe eswere young people fboth sexes who studied at thet womost prestigious private universities in the state, the Tecnológico de Monterrey (ITESM) and Universidad de Monterrey (UDEM).It was found that those who engage in this activity are mainly young people between 18 and 29 years old, extroverted, with great social skills, such as ease of speech, to make friends and use internet social networks and smartphones, which combine this activity with their studies. This activity takes place in a very flexible market where a few hours a week are worked and combined with studies and evenother jobs, it is carried out informally and in precarious conditions due to the lackof job security, the non-existence of written contracts, the lack of social protection and labor benefits, what was evident during the COVID 19 pandemic.
