The aim of this paper is to analyse how Emotional Education (EE) (re)configures the meanings of teachers' work, within the context of the therapeutisation of education and a radicalisation of the neoliberal paradigm in education. To this end, it focuses on the analysis of interviews with educators in the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires, which has revealed a tendency to blame teachers for educational problems, which leads to a demand for training in the acquisition of emotional competencies considered essential for tackling them. The teaching task is increasingly turning towards interventions centred on the emotional, from a therapeutic perspective. Research warns about the emotionalisation of the teaching role, which reinforces processes of individualisation and atomisation in the educational field, thus legitimising the neoliberal capitalist social order.
