LEDESMA, S. G; SIONE, S. M.J; OZSUST, J.D e ROSENBERGER, L.J. Content estimation and capture carbon potential in biomass tree of Espinal native forests (Entre Ríos, Argentine). FAVE. Secc. Cienc. agrar. [online]. 2021, vol.20, n.1, pp.331-345. ISSN 1666-7719.
Native forests intervene in the global carbon cycle (C), given their role as CO2 sequestrators. The objective was to estimate the stock and the annual C capture rate in forests of the Entre Ríos Espinal. Six forests were evaluated; estimating aerial tree biomass; C stock, and C capture rate using local allometric models and growth rates by species. The biomass content ranged between 52.13 and 111.82 tons DM / ha; on average 92.68 + 23.13 t MS / ha. C stock averaged 43.99 ± 10.43 t C / ha; varying between 26.02 t / ha and 52.8 t / ha. A high heterogeneity between forests was observed, according to their specific composition and diameter structure. The C catch rate ranged from 0.52 to 1.35 t C / ha / year, equivalent to a catch of between 1.91 and 4.95 t CO2 / ha / year. This study generates information of relevance for the design of native forest management strategies with a view to mitigating global climate change.
