Rootstocks improve variety adaptation to different environmental conditions and increases production. The influence of SL 64, MxM 60, MxM 14, CAB 6P, Weiroot 13, GiSeLa® 5,GiSeLa® 6 and Mariana 2624 with Adara filter as rootstocks was measured on the production of two sweet cherry varieties. The experimental design was a randomized complete block design with six replications. The variables were: harvested fruit production per tree (PrFC), production affinity (Af), tree precocity (Prec), damage-free fruit production (PrFS), rejected fruit fraction (fPer) and canopy volume (VDct). Edaphic salinity correlated with higher fPer and lower PrFC, PrFS and Prec. Variety influenced PrFS and f_ ; rootstock influenced P„ and P„, and interaction influenced P„, P„ Per rFC rFS rFC rFS and fPer. VDct was an imprecise predictor of PrFC and PrFS but, PrFC was a robust predictor of PrFS. Under experimental conditions, Bing on MxM 60 or W 13 and Celeste on sL 64, MxM 60 or Adara-M2624 had high PrFS, good soil-climate adaptation, precocity and the highest PrFS in rainy conditions at harvest. The combinations of Bing on MxM 14, GiSeLa® 6 or Adara-M2624 showed high PrFS, but differences in soil-climate adaptation were observed. The variety-rootstock affinity was highly specific.
