MINON, D.P; ZAPATA, R.R e GALLEGO, J.J. Eficiencia en el uso de agua para la producción de carne en sistemas irrigados con diferentes niveles de intensificación. RIA. Rev. investig. agropecu. [online]. 2018, vol.44, n.2, pp.74-79. ISSN 1669-2314.
The aim of this study is to compare the amount of water used in primary production (t DM ha-1) and meat production (kg ha-1) in the Río Negro irrigated areas in livestock grazing dynamic models that simulate different degrees of intensification: i seasonal meat production (240 days) alfalfa based (PEO) pastures; ii Idem I maximizing the efficiency of all processes; iii annual meat production (365 days) with PEO + autumn-winter-spring (OIP) pastures; iv PEO + OIP + corn supplementation ; v Pastures PEO + double cropping (winter + summer). Model i produced 12 t DM ha-1, predicted 399 kg meat ha-1, produced 10.5 kg DM mm-1 and used 29 m3 of water meat kg-1; model ii: 19 t, 798 kg, 15 kg DM and 16 m-3, model iii: 14 t, 1188 kg, 11 kg DM and 11 m-3; model iv: 14 t, 1392 kg, 11 kg DM and 10 m3 and model V 24 t DM ha-1, 2152 kg of meat ha-1, 18 kg DM and 6.5 m3 kg of meat-1. In conclusion, there is an wide range to increase forage production and meat in irrigated valleys of Patagonia making more efficient use of water resources.
