The following literary hermeneutic exercise, points to the tension between the significance of Simon Bolivar in the collective imagination, image inherited of state establishments and academicians artifacts, and its disclosure within the horizon of contemporary literary narrative. Yo, Bolívar rey, it is the novel proposed to show the annihilation of a heroic Bolivar by distorting nature of literature; namely a Bolívar made of flesh and bone, a metaphor of discontinuity, the expression of a chaotic society.
