This paper proposes an analysis of the politicization process of youth in Latin American during the twentieth century based on the interpretation of different historical processes that have had to the young subject as a main actor. The aim is to explain how this young political actor was built, and then investigate about their practices, which factors determined the conformation of its identity and how was inserted into the political world. To do this will analyze some factors that allow us to interpret youth involvement in politics considering the actions brought forward and the historical context in which they put into practice.We believe that different political and social situations have influence and determine the formation of young groups that participate in the political struggle, but also that each of these establishes a set of actions that differs according to time and space, and simultaneously determines the agential capacity of the youths. Therefore, this young political subject has in itself some common features and some differences along the history.To carry out this work will take three historical cases: 1) The university reform of 1918 in Argentina; 2) The student protests of 1968 in Uruguay; and 3) The Student Movement “Penguin” of 2006 in Chile.
