DAROS, William R.. The social evolution of adolescence, the pack and the fundamental caracter of the family group in adictions case. Enfoques [online]. 2022, vol.34, n.1, pp.37-58. ISSN 1669-2721.

In this brief essay, the aim is to discuss the present state of adolescence, currently focused on an atomized herd of individuals immersed in the visual and multimedia culture, who centralize their consumption actions on screen devices. From the culture of the book, we have moved on to the culture of the self-image. The “healing” of adolescence (which, in Spanish, means suffering from a disease or having a defect) and the attitude of refuge in the herd imply the passage of time and the reflexive maturation that it can bring; it implies tolerating not knowing where to go in order to acquire the sense of living in an adequate sociability and with autonomy. The lack of meaning in life produces boredom and annoyance for those who seek pleasure, which they often confuse with happiness. The loss of the male figure as protector causes frequent crises in the family structure. The lack of employment means the absence of belonging. Even so, many adolescents react by quixotically setting out to do something great with their lives. History is made of great people who made it despite adverse environments.
