The purpose of the article is to re-read and review Paulo Freire’s pedagogical thought from an intercultural perspective. The Brazilian pedagogue had an extensive career, faced different contexts and political conjunctures and, although his scope of reflection is wide, he does not explicitly address the question of intercultural education. Analyzing this absence without contextualizing it can make us fall into an anachronism: the reflection on the intercultural education is relatively recent. Paradoxically, the proposed revision will conclude, more than in a criticism, in an intercultural radicalization of the educator’s thought.
